Registration and Cancellation Policy: Cancellations cannot be made via the online website and must be made in writing to the AATS Administrative Offices. Direct your correspondence using the contact information below. If written notice of cancellation is received at the AATS Administrative Offices on or before September 30, 2018, the registration fee will be refunded after the meeting, less a $100 USD administrative fee.

The AATS International Thoracic Surgical Oncology Summit will be including a Surgical Suite Session at 12:45 pm – 2:00 pm on Friday, October 12 and 10:30 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 13.
To sign up for one of the following sessions, please be sure to add the program items to your itinerary when registering. Attendees must be registered for the Summit to attend the Surgical Suite Sessions. Please only register for one session per day.

 
 » Chest Wall Reconstruction
The session material will be repeated during both Friday and Saturday Surgical Suite Sessions 
       

In this hands-on course, participants will learn the various techniques for reconstruction of large chest wall defects after resection. Other highlights of the course include stabilization of rib and sternal fractures using the most current reconstruction systems and minimally invasive repair of adult pectus excavatum defects. At the end of this course, participants should be able to independently design and perform reconstruction of the chest wall for various indications.

 » The Role of Advanced Practice Providers in Thoracic Surgical Oncology
Single registration provides access to both Friday and Saturday Surgical Suite Sessions
   

The objective of the course is to provide an in-depth review of the evolving role of APPs in Thoracic Surgery, with an emphasis on all aspects of perioperative care including current surgical techniques in bedside procedures.  This session will provide a hands-on experience in performing: bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, insertion and removal of various types of chest tubes- tunneled vs non-tunneled, as well as, the use of ultrasonography for locating pleural and pericardial effusions. We will discuss the establishment and management of an independent APP Thoracic Surgery Consult Service and its incorporation to surgical practices.
